The Colton Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank all who attended and helped to make the First Rod Thomas Memorial 6 v 6 soccer tournament a great success. We saw lots of people we haven’t seen in some time and by all accounts a great time was had by all. Although I don’t have the final numbers completed yet, a good amount of money was raised to benefit the Rod Thomas scholarship fund and the fire department.

For the tournament itself, congratulations to the following first year tournament winners:
Girls High School Division: Girls Gone Wild
Boys High School Division: Yellowjackets
Adult Coed Division: The Hoot

Special thanks to all those in the department who came out to help with this big undertaking and to those members of Rod’s family that chipped in to help. A big shout out to Rod’s brother Pete and his wife Charlotte for helping setup the venue, working all day and helping to clean up. Also thanks to Rod’s cousins Brian and Kevin Jones. And our appreciation to Cheryl Thomas, Eric Thomas and Gavin Thomas for supporting us in this endeavor. And we cannot thank the various vendors and merchants who made donations in support of our efforts.

We hope to continue this tournament in the future. Ideas, comments and change recommendations are welcome.
