To our Fire and Rescue District residents:
Just wanted to let everyone know that Colton Fire and Rescue is taking all necessary precautions to; First, maintain our support and coverage for all calls in the District; Second, to ensure that all appropriate precautions are taken when dealing with patients and events where the COVID-19 virus may be, or has the potential to be, present, and; Third, to ensure the safety and well being of our first responders.
You may see us respond in varying types of personnel protective equipment depending on the risks involved. The protocols and precautions put in place require us to make additional information requests and take extra care in our response to your needs. We are dedicated to ensuring that we do not expose the public or ourselves to this virus as much as possible. Any exposure to first responders may require quarantine of those personnel, and frankly, there are very few of us to go around.
We hope that all of our residents will follow all of the guidelines and restrictions promulgated at the federal and state levels and practice good social distancing.
Both fire stations are no longer accessible to the public and meetings, training and fundraising are cancelled. All first responders must first take their own temperature as soon as they arrive. A fever automatically requires them to exit the building. Any of our first responders we have determined to be high risk, have been asked to not participate to protect them from the virus.
Just remember that during this troubled time, our first responders, VOLUNTARILY, place themselves in potential jeopardy to aid our community. Thank you for your continued support and your understanding.
